A WORD FROM MR PIENAAR

A STRONG START, A STRONG FINISH

Welcome back to all our staff and students after the holiday break. It has been wonderful to see our classrooms, playgrounds, and learning spaces come alive again with energy and enthusiasm. I hope everyone had an opportunity to rest, refresh, and spend quality time with family and friends.

Term 4 is always a busy and exciting term filled with special activities, celebrations, assessments, and events. While it is one of our shorter terms, it is certainly a significant one. During our Opening Worship Service on Monday morning, we shared the theme for Term 4: “To start well means you will end well.”

This simple but powerful message reminds us that success is often determined by the habits and effort we put in from the very beginning. I encourage all students to approach Term 4 with purpose, commitment, and a positive attitude. By giving your best from the outset, you place yourself in the strongest position to achieve your goals and finish the year on a high.

Metro Canteens

We are delighted to officially welcome Metro Canteens to the Unity College community as they commenced their first day of operations on Monday, 12 October. We look forward to the fresh opportunities they will bring to our students, staff, and families through their food service offerings and commitment to supporting our College community.

A special welcome is extended to Jacqui Vorstenbosch and her team as they begin this exciting new partnership with Unity College. We appreciate the work that has already gone into preparing for the transition and are confident that Metro Canteens will become a valued part of daily life at Unity. We wish Jackie and her team every success as they settle into their new role and look forward to working together in the years ahead.

Murray Bridge Show Success

Congratulations to our Agriculture students and staff involved in the Sheep and Dairy Teams at the Murray Bridge Show. Your commitment, preparation, and professionalism were evident throughout the event, and your efforts were rewarded with numerous awards across a variety of categories.

These achievements are a testament not only to your skills and dedication but also to the strong agricultural program we are proud to offer at Unity College. Well done to everyone involved for representing our College with excellence and pride.

Encouragement for Our Year 12 Students

For our Year 12 students, the final chapter of your formal educational journey at Unity College is quickly approaching. Over the coming days and weeks, you will experience many “lasts” – your final lessons, final assemblies, final assignments, and soon your final ATAR examinations.

As you approach this important milestone, I encourage you to remain focused and committed. Finish strongly. Continue putting in the hard work required to complete your final assessments and prepare thoroughly for your exams. The effort you invest now will serve you well in the weeks ahead.

Most importantly, remember that success is not measured by comparison with others but by faithfully doing your best with the gifts and opportunities God has given you. I am confident that each of you can achieve to your potential and look forward to celebrating your accomplishments.

We will be keeping you in our prayers as you complete this significant stage of your journey.

UCOS 20-Year Reunion

On Friday, 16 October, we look forward to welcoming former students back for the Unity College Old Scholars (UCOS) 20-Year Reunion and on Friday, 30 October the 1, 5 & 10 Year Reunion. These promise to be wonderful evenings of reconnecting with classmates, catching up with former teachers, sharing memories, and celebrating the relationships built throughout the years at Unity College.

It is always special to see our alumni return and reflect on the impact Unity College has had on their lives. We hope all those attending enjoy a memorable evening filled with laughter, friendship, and gratitude for the shared journey.

A Final Word of Encouragement

As we move through this final term of the year, let us remember that God calls us to persevere and give our best in all we do.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9

May God bless each student, staff member, and family as we work together toward a successful and rewarding conclusion to the 2026 school year.

Blessings
Mr Francois Pienaar, Principal
