SPORT

SPORT IN THE CURRICULUM

Sport is an integral part of life at Unity College, playing an important role in both curriculum offerings and the extra-curricular program.

Health and Physical Education is compulsory for all students from Reception to Year 10 as part of the Australian Curriculum. At Year 11 and 12, students may elect to complete SACE Stage 1 and 2 Physical Education, while the Specialist Sport Program begins as an elective (via special application) in Year 9 and can lead to the completion of a Certificate III in Fitness through TAFE SA.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR SPORT

Unity College students in Years 5 to 12 have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of inter-school sport competitions (SSSA and SAPSASA). Sports can include athletics, basketball, cricket, cross country, football, netball, soccer, tennis and volleyball.

Various sporting clinics and round robin carnivals are also made available to Junior School students throughout the year, helping to expose our younger students to new sports, learn new skills and build confidence.
