The Australian Children’s Laureate for 2026 -2027 is Andy Griffiths and his mission is “to lead kids and families on wild imaginative adventures and remind them of the true pleasure of reading.” The theme for his term as Laureate is Reading is an Adventure.
The ACLF is a not-for-profit organisation that runs the Australian Children’s Laureate program. They work with authors, illustrators, educators, and partners to champion literacy, creativity, and access to stories for all young Australians.
You and/or your child may be very familiar with Andy Grifith’s work. His popular books include: The Treehouse series, The JUST! Series (Just Tricking! Just Annoying!, Just Shocking! etc) and a new series called You and Me.
