As part of our commitment to the safety and well-being of all students, we want to inform you about our policy regarding the administration of medication at school. We are currently updating our Medication Policy and will send it out to families when completed.
In accordance with our duty of care, we ensure that all medications are administered in a safe and timely manner, with appropriate monitoring. If your child requires medication during school hours, we kindly ask that you complete the necessary consent form, which allows us to safely distribute the prescribed medication to your child.
Please be aware that:
Consent Forms: A completed consent form is required for each medication that needs to be administered. This form must include specific details about the medication, dosage, and timing, along with any special instructions.
Medication Guidelines: All medication must be brought to school in its original packaging with a pharmacy label, and it should be handed directly to the school office or designated staff member. Over-the-counter medications should also follow the same procedure.
Storage and Administration: The school will store and administer medication in accordance with our health and safety procedures, and only designated school staff will handle the medication.
Duty of Care: The school’s duty of care includes ensuring that your child’s health and safety are protected while they are under our supervision. We take all necessary precautions to support students with medical needs and ensure proper care in emergencies.
Panadol: Will only be given out on the MSS campus after a phone call home (even if you have ticked the yes box on the Parent Lounge).
We encourage you to contact the school if you have any questions or need further clarification on our medication policy. Your cooperation and support help us maintain a safe environment for all students.
Thank you for your understanding on this important matter.
